Comcast Spectacor has announced plans to build a $50M USD esports arena in partnership with The Cordish Cos., which will serve as the home venue for its Overwatch League team, the Philadelphia Fusion . The arena will be built in South Philadelphia as part of a larger sports complex, which also holds the Xfinity Live! Dining and entertainment complex.
According to Comcast Spectacor, the 60K square-foot venue will hold 3,500 seats. The project, currently operating under the name Fusion Arena, will not be ready until the 2021 OWL season, and the team will have a temporary home in South Philadelphia during the 2020 season.
